How Much Does It Cost to Subscribe to Satellite Radio?
When subscribing to a satellite radio service, you will pay an activation fee as well as a fee per month or year.
As you can see below, the activation fees are almost identical for XM Radio and Sirius. And both providers give a discount for signing up online.
Subscription Fees:
There are different plans available from both systems, as you can see below. With the recent price increase by XM Radio, the basic month-to-month rate is $12.95 for both.
Another difference is the policy upon cancellation. XM Radio has no set contract and will refund a pro-rated portion of an annual plan. Sirius will charge $75 for a cancellation of the annual plans (not the Lifetime plan) and refund the unused portion of what you have paid.
