Satellite Radio in Your New Car

Auto manufacturers are jumping on the satellite radio bandwagon as well. Having a factory-installed system should result in the best sound available, taking advantage of the digital format. Look at the chart below to see which system is being offered by each manufacturer.

GM has invested in XM Radio, and it is expected that all GM cars, trucks, and SUV's which offer satellite radio as an option in their sound systems will feature this product. Ford, Daimler Chrysler, and BMW are offering Sirius exclusively. And Lexus, Nissan, Infiniti, Audi, Toyota, Porsche, Scion, and Volkswagen offer both systems. However, it is important to remember that satellite radio is not offered on all of the models in a manufacturer's lineup.

When a new car comes with satellite radio, it typically does not include the cost of the subscription to the service, and is only the cost of the equipment.
